Komitet Organizacyjny Restytucji Pomnika Tadeusza Kościuszki

Miejska Rada Narodowa w Sosnowcu odpowiadając na liczne apele lokalnych patriotów (regionalistów) podjęła w dniu 29 października 1981 roku uchwałę o odbudowie pomnika Tadeusza Kościuszki zniszczonego przez niemieckiego okupanta w 1939 roku. Powołano także Społeczny Komitet Restytucji Pomnika. Aktywne działania Komitetu wspieranego przez wiele osób zakończyły się sukcesem jakim było odsłonięcie odbudowanego pomnika w dniu 11 października1983 roku.
