Nie ma żadnych informacji o działalności sportowej w Szczekocinach przed II-gą wojną światową.
 
Po zakończeniu wojny w 1950 roku powstał '''Klub Sportowy (KS) Spójnia Szczekociny''', który był poprzednikiem Sparty Szczekociny. Prowadził on sekcję piłki nożnej. Spójnia była utrzymywana przez działające w Szczekocinach spółdzielnie: Spółdzielnię Inwalidów, Gminną Spółdzielnię „Samopomoc Chłopska”, Spółdzielnię Metalowców Rozwój, Okręgową Spółdzielnię Mleczarską. W latach 50-tych istniał też Ludowy Zespół Sportowy (LZS) Szczekociny, którym kierował Janusz Żmuda.
 
Pierwszy stadion w Szczekocinach został zbudowany przy ul. Senatorskiej w miejscu, gdzie obecnie stoi Szkoła Podstawowa nr 1. Piłkarze przebierali się w pomieszczeniach Gminnej Spółdzielni „Samopomoc Chłopska” mieszczących się w siedzibie pobliskiego Urzędu Miasta. Nie wiadomo kiedy dokładnie nastąpiła zmiana nazwy na '''Ludowy Klub Sportowy (LKS) Sparta Szczekociny''', ale stało się prawdopodobnie w latach 60-tych XX wieku. Około 1966 roku na miejscu dawnego stadionu zbudowano Szkołę Podstawową nr 1, a nowy (obecny) stadion wybudowano przy ul. Spacerowej. Z początkiem lat 80-tych utworzono nowe sekcje: siatkówki (istniała kilka lat) i tenisa stołowego - przekazanego w XXI wieku do klubu Talent Szczekociny. Wtedy Sparta była utrzymywana przez ww. spółdzielnię oraz Zrzeszenie LZS. W III Rzeczpospolitej Sparta utrzymywana jest z dotacji samorządu i Zrzeszenia LZS.
 
=SEKCJA PIŁKI NOŻNEJ=
 
Ponieważ do czerwca 1975 roku Szczekociny znajdowały się w woj. kieleckim, powiecie włoszczowskim to piłkarze Spójni Szczekociny zaraz po powstaniu klubu rozpoczęli rozgrywki w kieleckiej Klasie C, z której dość szybko awansowali do kieleckiej Klasy B. Grali w niej aż do 1976 roku. W B-Klasie grali min. z drużynami: LZS Bodzentyn, LZS Tumlin, LZS Białogon, LZS Skalbmierz, LZS Chęciny, LZS Połaniec, AKS Busko-Zdrój czy zespołami ze Starachowic. W połowie lat 50-tych w drużynie Spójni grali: na bramce Gierczycki, w obronie: Hermienowicz, S. Hanturski, ?.Hanturski, w pomocy: Heracz, Gwiazda, Błaszczyk, w ataku: Klimas, Odczyk, Skowroński, Ligowski. Z początkiem lat 60-tych była szansa na awans do Klasy A, jednak mecz z AKS Busko-Zdrój zakończył się awanturą, która skutkowała zawieszeniem drużyny i stadionu. W tamtych latach Spójnia, a potem Sparta utrzymywała dobre stosunki z klubem Stal-Kotły (późniejsza nazwa Kotlarz) Sosnowiec, co skutkowała częstymi meczami towarzyskim z tą drużyną.

Na 45-cio lecie klubu w 1995 roku Sparta rozegrała w Szczekocinach mecz towarzyski z I-Ligowym wówczas Rakowem Częstochowa, który przegrała 1-7.

W XXI wieku drużynie piłkarskiej Sparty grali m.in.: Andrzej Dziedzic, Kacper Grzybek, Waldemar Kamiński, Rafał Maścibrzuch, Artur Minkina, Mariusz Mizgała, Radosław Szota, Wojciech Szymczyk, Robert Załęski.

Nie ma żadnych informacji o działalności sportowej w Szczekocinach przed II-gą wojną światową.

Po zakończeniu wojny w 1950 roku powstał Klub Sportowy (KS) Spójnia Szczekociny, który był poprzednikiem Sparty Szczekociny. Prowadził on sekcję piłki nożnej. Spójnia była utrzymywana przez działające w Szczekocinach spółdzielnie: Spółdzielnię Inwalidów, Gminną Spółdzielnię „Samopomoc Chłopska”, Spółdzielnię Metalowców Rozwój, Okręgową Spółdzielnię Mleczarską. W latach 50-tych istniał też Ludowy Zespół Sportowy (LZS) Szczekociny, którym kierował Janusz Żmuda.

Pierwszy stadion w Szczekocinach został zbudowany przy ul. Senatorskiej w miejscu, gdzie obecnie stoi Szkoła Podstawowa nr 1. Piłkarze przebierali się w pomieszczeniach Gminnej Spółdzielni „Samopomoc Chłopska” mieszczących się w siedzibie pobliskiego Urzędu Miasta. Nie wiadomo kiedy dokładnie nastąpiła zmiana nazwy na Ludowy Klub Sportowy (LKS) Sparta Szczekociny, ale stało się prawdopodobnie w latach 60-tych XX wieku. Około 1966 roku na miejscu dawnego stadionu zbudowano Szkołę Podstawową nr 1, a nowy (obecny) stadion wybudowano przy ul. Spacerowej. Z początkiem lat 80-tych utworzono nowe sekcje: siatkówki (istniała kilka lat) i tenisa stołowego - przekazanego w XXI wieku do klubu Talent Szczekociny. Wtedy Sparta była utrzymywana przez ww. spółdzielnię oraz Zrzeszenie LZS. W III Rzeczpospolitej Sparta utrzymywana jest z dotacji samorządu i Zrzeszenia LZS.

SEKCJA PIŁKI NOŻNEJ

Ponieważ do czerwca 1975 roku Szczekociny znajdowały się w woj. kieleckim, powiecie włoszczowskim to piłkarze Spójni Szczekociny zaraz po powstaniu klubu rozpoczęli rozgrywki w kieleckiej Klasie C, z której dość szybko awansowali do kieleckiej Klasy B. Grali w niej aż do 1976 roku. W B-Klasie grali min. z drużynami: LZS Bodzentyn, LZS Tumlin, LZS Białogon, LZS Skalbmierz, LZS Chęciny, LZS Połaniec, AKS Busko-Zdrój czy zespołami ze Starachowic. W połowie lat 50-tych w drużynie Spójni grali: na bramce Gierczycki, w obronie: Hermienowicz, S. Hanturski, ?.Hanturski, w pomocy: Heracz, Gwiazda, Błaszczyk, w ataku: Klimas, Odczyk, Skowroński, Ligowski. Z początkiem lat 60-tych była szansa na awans do Klasy A, jednak mecz z AKS Busko-Zdrój zakończył się awanturą, która skutkowała zawieszeniem drużyny i stadionu. W tamtych latach Spójnia, a potem Sparta utrzymywała dobre stosunki z klubem Stal-Kotły (późniejsza nazwa Kotlarz) Sosnowiec, co skutkowała częstymi meczami towarzyskim z tą drużyną.

Na 45-cio lecie klubu w 1995 roku Sparta rozegrała w Szczekocinach mecz towarzyski z I-Ligowym wówczas Rakowem Częstochowa, który przegrała 1-7.

W XXI wieku drużynie piłkarskiej Sparty grali m.in.: Andrzej Dziedzic, Kacper Grzybek, Waldemar Kamiński, Rafał Maścibrzuch, Artur Minkina, Mariusz Mizgała, Radosław Szota, Wojciech Szymczyk, Robert Załęski.
